Good, good Father..

Thanks to our good, good Father God I've been to Israel twice, once in 2015 and again in 2017, and I never expected to go ONCE. Outside of the day I asked Christ to rule my life, those two trips were the most profoundly life-changing events of my life. Mere imagination and speculation were transformed into immutable fact. The stories I had read and re-read over most of my life now became settled history, written in the dirt, and forensically true.

Want to see Mt. Sinai? It's still there, surrounded by a fence for protection, complete with crudely carved images of the Egyptian cow-god Hathor, an L-shaped trench where animals were herded for sacrifice, and the top 800 feet of the mountain burned black. Today It's

called Jabal Al-Laws. Google it. Want to see Joshua's Altar that he was commanded to

to erect on Mr. Ebal? It's still there.

Or the Pool of Siloam where Jesus sent the blind man to wash his eyes, and he came back seeing?? Yep. Still there. The collapsed wall of Jericho? You guessed it. Still there. The synagogue where Jesus preached in Capernaum? It's still underneath the one you see today. Google it. The Jews get a lot of flak for requiring proof: "For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:"  (1Corinthians 1:22 KJV), but we should be glad for their intransigence. They wanted signs? They got 'em. And so did we. Don't believe the story of Balaam in Numbers? His name is inscribed in plaster on the wall of an ancient collapsed wall in a town called Al Deir Alla, where he evidently lived a little over 3000 years ago. The Apostle Peter once wrote:

"For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty."  (2 Peter 1:16 KJV)

The Bible is not a collection of ancient Jewish Mythology, but a carefully collected and collated collection of historical events. They are TRUE. And this means that Jesus was really born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) of the virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14), that He was God in human form (Isaiah 9:6). His soul (life) was made an offering for sins (Isaiah 53:10), and anyone who trusts in Him will not be ashamed (Isaiah 28:16)! We will one day rule with Him in glory, not because we deserve it, but because we are in Him, and He shall rule!

If you are struggling, know that you are not following "cunningly devised fables" are are abiding in the absolute Truth of the eternal Gospel. Stay firmly attached to Christ, friend.

Some of you haven't seen this video recapping our Israel trip, so I'm posting it again. Click the arrow on the screen below, be blessed and know your sins are forgiven for His name's sake!

Isn't He wonderful??
